This page describes how the bird atlas data and the content of this site can be used.

Data of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Finnish bird atlase

CC BYThe data of all three atlases are available under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 -license. You may use the data freely, if you follow the terms of this license. The data is available as CSV files.

The license requires you to give attribution to the source and mention the license. You can do this for example like this:

Species photos on this site are mainly Creative Commons -licensed works from other sites. These can be used according to the same license they are used here with. The license and attribution information for each photo are shown on the footer of each page.

Experts at the Finnish Museum of Natural History have confirmed that each photo depicts the correct species. (The photos have been taken from around the world, so the subspecies are not necessarily those that are breeding in Finland.)
